How to deep clean your home and flooring

In our current climate, keeping the home clean has never been more important. This week, we shall discuss how deep cleaning vinyl flooring and your home for the health and well-being of your family can be made easy.

Throughout winter it would be easy for your windows to go amiss. It would be too dark to notice the dirt building up, which is why now is the time to give them a complete clean. Don’t forget to polish them too for that summer shine!

Sand down and refinish your floors

If you’re lucky enough to have solid or engineered wood in your home, now is the time where you will start to notice scratches and marks. This usually doesn’t need to be done for quite a few years, but if you have kids in the house it wouldn’t be surprising if you found one or two already.

Junk drawer

Every home has one and now is the time to get rid of it. No matter how hard you try, it can be far too easy to dump something in there and walk away. Take the time to remove everything, find its true home and give the draw a good clean.

Clean the curtains

Something that many households overlook is the cleanliness of the curtains. All you need to do is throw them in the washing machine! We suggest doing this in the morning so that they will be ready to hang back up at the end of the day.

General declutter

A busy home is a cluttered home, which is why a good declutter will always be an improvement. If you have children, you will be all too familiar with items being left all around the home. So, use this time to clear everything up!

As people are spending more time in their gardens, it’s time to prepare. Do some weeding, plant flowers and give you outdoor furniture a good scrub and sanitise!

Clean your cleaners

Brooms, hoovers, dustpans… they all need a clean from time to time! Give you broom a dip in some warm soapy water or vacuum the end. Give your hoover a good gutting and wash the attachments.

Did you know your mattress can harbour so many germs? Give it a hard vacuum, ensuring you get underneath and the sides.

Vinyl flooring

The wonderful thing about having vinyl flooring in your home is that a deep clean is easy! All you need is some warm soapy water and a mop to clean vinyl flooring quickly. Find products that can help you to complete this task on our website.
