Why you should always choose LVT over Lino
If you’re looking for the best quality vinyl flooring without paying for the cost of natural materials such as stone or wood, you may have considered lino. Formed from a single sheet, you would assume lino to be a suitable option. However, when comparing lino to the likes of luxury vinyl flooring (LVT), you will come to realise that there are many downsides to choosing lino. LVT flooring distributors across the country recommended LVT over lino. Here are a few reasons why…
Price
It would be easy to assume that lino is a cheap alternative to real wood or stone. However, you may be shocked to find that many high-end lino sheets can be quite costly. If you’re looking for quality, it’s important to find value as well as a good price. With LVT, however, you are guaranteed amazing value for money!
Durability
Lino does offer some levels of durability. However, lino is significantly less durable than most wood solutions, and wood cannot compare to the durability benefits of LVT. Therefore, lino still has a long way to go before it can even match up to the quality and lifespan of LVT.
Suitability for your room
If you’re looking at the cheapest lino options for your home, you will likely only find lino flooring that can give a basic performance. Therefore, if you require flooring that can take the footfall from your bathroom or kitchen, we would highly recommend looking to LVT instead.
Cleaning care
One positive thing to note about lino flooring is that it’s very easy to clean and requires the same cleaning process as LVT. However, this does not mean to say that regular cleaning will prevent any marks or scratches. The best thing about LVT is that if you do happen to put an obvious dent in your flooring (something that is highly unlikely but still plausible), all you need to do is replace a single tile!
Installation
With lino flooring, all you must do is roll it out and cut it to fit the shape of your room. This is relatively easy, but should you make any mistakes and cut away too much, you will need to fill the gaps, and this cannot be done without any evidence of your error. With LVT, you may order too much or too little, but filling the gaps is an easier task as all you need is to order more.
A clear winner
As you can see, LVT trumps lino, with no reason to question further. So, if you think you would like to invest in LVT for your home, look no further than Floorbay. Get in touch to learn more about our products from expert LVT flooring distributors today.
